Fresh Grounds on the Horizon

About a month ago, my coffee grinder died on me. Since it was making some weird noises and not passing any grinds through, I figured something had gotten stuck, so I followed the instructions on how to fix a jammed grinder. Unfortunately, I reached a point in the instructions where I was supposed to do something, but my grinder was not doing it. The augur got stuck, and there was no way to undo that.

I was pretty nervous about what was to follow, because there were many confused and angry comments on the company’s YouTube tutorial that I was following, but I tried to remain calm and reached out to them directly with my issue. After a few days passed with no response, I absolutely began to panic. I started looking at $700 grinders, thinking that I’d become a victim to a Kickstarter failure, but then I received an e-mail. They told me that there was a manufacturing issue affecting ~3% of their grinders, provided me a shipping label to send it back to them, and said they would send out a brand new replacement. Panic subsided, and then I proceeded to have the worst month of coffee in recent memory.
Hide the Pain Harold
However, that’s all about to end. The new replacement grinder is set to arrive on Monday, so things should pick back up again for this household. I don’t know if my desire for the $700 grinder has fully dissipated, but I can certainly put it on the shelf until the next failure.

✍️ Editor's Note: the replacement grinder did not last. I had the same issue with it. So, it was good customer service and I appreciated it, but I cannot recommend the grinder to anyone. I've since moved on to a "mediocre" hand-grinder, and I love it.
